Kate Mellon has a desire to connect with students to help them develop critical thinking through conversations about literacy and develop skills to create high quality essays. This is accomplished through intentional relationships and utilizing effective instructional approaches. She has 

 fifteen years in education as an energetic educator who received a BA in education from Wake Forest University, a Masters in Language & Literacy from Lesley University and is a certified WOW Essay Writing Coach. 

When students discuss reading and writing with  Kate, the benefits of intensity and collaboration are significant. Intensity is fostered through one-on-one attention with guidance and feedback. This leads to improved writing quality and increased confidence. Collaboration enables students to learn from each other's expertise and perspectives. This combination of intensity and collaboration can lead to 

improved critical thinking and analysis, 

and higher quality writing. 

Combining group work and individual work is the key to success in developing critical thinking and effective essays. Group work is often done in small carefully planned in person situations. Students will learn from one another, develop communication skills, receive diverse perspectives and accountability among students. Individual work allows for a tailored approach that helps students develop high quality work and fine tune their writing. Students have the option to do it online or in person.
